Delegation Nation Interview

By Interviewer at 05/25/09 14:58

Name of your website?

Delegation Nation

Your name?

Mark Haagsma

Your Location (city, etc)

Tampa Bay Area

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Delegation Nation is a global provider of business-critical services. We are a US based company with operations centers across the world. We employ a dedicated team of industry experts, analysts and technical professionals to meet market challenges which guarantees risk–free delivery of even the most complex processes. Our services are custom designed to meet the needs of each client's unique circumstances. Our solutions are intelligent, seamless and fully scalable which allows your company to grow without capital investment.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

A book titled, "The 4-hour work week" by Tim Ferriss

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was launched in 1999. I created the webiste for my parents company, Rue Educational Publishers. The business is dedicated to helping LPN's and RN's earn an associates and/or bachelors degree in nursing through independent study.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Hundreds of combinations of words and phrases and of course a few focus groups for good measure.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our differentiator is the fact that we are a US based BPO (business process outsourcing) provider with operation centers strategically located worldwide. This provides our clients with three distinct advantages. First, we meet all of our clients in person. In the world of BPO this is a rare event indeed. Typically all interaction between a vendor and client is done across hundreds and thousands of miles making communication and relationship building a difficult task. And second, our offshore and near shore operation centers are all managed as if they are located in the US. In other words, we utilize all the best business practices metrics and measures to insure the most reliable delivery of service.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal for Delegation Nation, LLC is to be the number one provider of business process outsourcing services in the State of Florida. Once that goal is achieved, we will go through a strategic planning process and create a new set of expectations for the company.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I am fortunate to be in a business that allows me to live a balanced life.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would open up professional career training and operation facilities in areas of the world where people live in poverty and have no career opportunities available to them.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We are fortunate to have a global network of top-shelf providers that are able to provide and almost limitless amount of human resources.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Bandwidth in areas of the world where proverty is prevalent continues to be terribly expensive.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Our biggest challenge continues to be educating prospects of the benefits of outsourcing.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Referral marketing continues to be the most successful way to market our website.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Irreguardless of the success of the website, the site will remain online and available to our clients and prospects alike.

What is your website address?

Delegation Nation
