NetForge.co.za Web Design South Africa Interview

By Interviewer at 06/18/09 12:29

Name of your website?

NetForge.co.za Web Design South Africa

Your name?

Shannon Black

Your Location (city, etc)

Port Elizabeth

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Situated in Port Elizabeth, NetForge.co.za offers incredibly affordable web design and hosting for small business and individuals alike. Catering for all who want quality - even under a tight budget.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I'm a self taught and passionate web designer that wanted to take my designs to the next level, giving people the opportunity to have their own sites built for great fees

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I'm a fan of the OSI (Open Source Initiative) and support projects hosted on sourceforge.net and thought that if I'm providing great design for great money i want to be likened to sourceforge.net at one stage

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

First of all, the costs are minimal and yet I provide competitive packages in comparison to other companies alike.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Well, I make enough to survive, but this is not a not a problem as I gain the satisfaction of doing what I'm passionate about

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I'd allow free web hosting and file hosting under netforge.co.za, much like a blog site, mixed with youtube, except you have entire creative input to the entire site...

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I believe I could as of course the budget friendly nature of my service allows customers to be happy with a little waiting period. Also, using time management I should be able to handle quite a few customers at a time. Enough to warrant external help if neccessary

What has been your biggest challenge?

Advertising and SEO. But its something I want to build up on my own, in order to create a similar service for my customers.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I believe listing myself on business directories and word of mouth.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I expected something less successful on and online level and believed that the "door-to-door" method would bring the customers in, but it turned out the opposite

What is your website address?
