If you are looking for information about how to start a small business, you have come to the right place. On this site you will find articles on every topic related to starting your own business.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

A desire to use my skills and experience in a productive way to help other people and to maybe earn a little money doing it.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched www.spinning-4-pleasure.com in September 2007

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I looked for the question I am trying to answer on the website.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It is based on personal knowledge and experience and a pretty good education.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Evenutally I would like to quit my day job and manage my websites fill time.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Time will tell. It is taking quite a bit of time at the moment but it is only early days with this particular site.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Work on it full time.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I hope so. It is important to me, so it is already a priority in my life.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The learning curve is huge ad I am spending a fair bit of reference materials.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I have used directories, and the free search engines. I am also publishing a blog http://www.how-to-start-a-small-business-blog.com but it is still too soon to judge which is the most successful.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Not really.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Not long and indefinitely
