ivoireconsultancy.org Interview

By Interviewer at 03/10/09 15:37

Name of your website?

ivoireconsultancy.org

Your name?

Mendy

Your Location (city, etc)

Bristol

Please give us a short summary of your website?

ivoireconsultancy.org Connects Freelancers with Small and Medium Size Businesses Worldwide. Employers post their projects and receive bids within 1 hour.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I was in need of more challenge and see if I was able to get something from scratch.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

It was a site dedicated to helping small Non-governmental organiszations in Africa. That was 3 years ago.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It just came up- so I did not think much.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Unlike other freelance sites, we cover the 4 continents- we have freelancers from every country- and that's the difference.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it and start other businesses. We have a Media and Advertising site as well an Offshore IT company going live very soon.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I am not complaining so far. It takes hard work and dedication. Difficult to stay motivated every day, but that's business for you.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I am not in need of unlimited budget. Maybe if I had that amount of money, I would be making some hasty and bad decisions. Coping with little, help you make wise decisions.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I hope so. I am not alone in this, so I am ready for bigger challenges

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Marketing, admin and development costs.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting the site up and running was the biggest challenge.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word and mouth and targeted marketing.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Very different indeed. Did not expect that much work in the first place.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's been up and running for about 2 months and we're having good traffic. So for another 5 years.

Will I be successful in 5 years?

Hope so.

What is your website address?
